Fresh Start

January is the time for fresh starts in so many ways. New year, new Filofax, new start. My life’s got a bit tangled and confused over the last year, taking on too much in a gap year and yet losing all sense of direction, so this is where I need to start rebuilding.

I’m on the job hunt again, trying to choose between taking a terrible job for pay or trying to get myself a work experience placement in a job I really want to do for six months. I’m lucky that I’m in a position that I have that choice, and that I’ve been able to take the last year out. I’m not sure yet whether it’s done more good or harm, but that’s one of the things I have to work out.

I need to make changes to my blog as well. I had great ideas when I started out, and then it became just a personal blog of cool and shiny things, which isn’t its purpose. Less time on Pinterest, more time blogging, far less time playing Sims and, alas, talking to my best friend. Maybe even a new layout, and a personal blog alongside. We’ll see, I suppose.

The good thing is that I know what I want. The bad news is that this blog doesn’t actually contribute towards it. Funny what a year can reveal.
